IMPLEMENTATION

 Traditional Teacher-Centered Chemistry Teaching

The lecturer was using power point slides and eye scanner to explain the chemical reactions occurred during the process of acid –base titration. In order to make the students to visualize the process of titration, the lecturer also make an effort to show video. The students observed the color changes in the indicator used during titration in the video shown. Finally, lecturer used eye scanner to show the calculation involved the titration.

Using TIMBOARD as theTeaching Aid

The TIMBOARDs were designed in two different variations. The first type is to be used as the teaching aids by the lecturers to explain about the chemical reactions occur during the process of acid –base titration. The second type is to be used by the students to facilitate them to understand the process of titration.

A.    TIMBOARD AS A TEACHING  AIDS
TIMBOARD consist of:
1.      Magnetic laminated  conical flask
2.      Magnetic  laminated Burette
3.      Magnetic laminated circles with different size and color to represent strong acid (big circle-pink), weak acid (small circles – pink), strong base (big circles-blue) and weak base (small circles- blue).
4.      Magnetic laminated words such as strong acid, strong base,  weak acid, weak base equivalence point, end point and buffer region

B.     TIMBOARD TO BE USED BY STUDENTS

TIMBOARD consists of a piece of laminated A4 paper with the basic diagram oftitration. The students will be provided with stickers with 2 different colors (red –acid, blue-base) with 2 different sizes (big – strong acid/base and small week acid/base)
